BIDS AND SOLICITATIONS

Contracts and Procurements

It is the responsibility of Brazos County Emergency Services District No. 1 (“the District”), a State of Texas Special Purpose District, to conduct purchasing in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, to foster sound purchasing policies and procedures, and to stimulate competitive bidding to provide materials and services at the lowest price and highest quality possible. The District follows a centralized business model with all contracts and procurements to be administered by the Fire Chief following approval by the District Board of Commissioners.

All purchases are made in accordance with the District’s purchasing policy. Where available, the District considers the use of a cooperative purchasing program to ensure the best possible pricing on products, equipment, and services. These cooperative purchasing programs are established pursuant to the Texas Interlocal Cooperation Act [Texas Local Government Code, Title 7, Chapter 791]. The Act allows local governments and certain non-profits to contract or agree under the terms of the Act to make purchases or provide purchasing services and other administrative functions appropriately established by another government entity.

The District fiscal year is from October 1st through September 30th.

The District publishes bid opportunities in the Bryan Eagle and the District’s website page: www.brazoscountyesd1.org/bids.
